Sheldon Owen is the co-founder and CEO of Unified, the creators of the first cloud-based social operating platform for global brands and agencies. Sheldon's vision and corporate direction have made Unified an award-winning company and one of the fastest growing social marketing technology platforms in the industry.
Sheldon has over 20 years of experience in developing and operating emerging technology and digital marketing companies. He has successfully managed over $1 billion in digital marketing campaigns throughout his career and has worked with global brands such as Microsoft, Verizon, Toyota, BMW, Unilever and Kraft. Sheldon is an active board member, start-up advisor and angel investor.
Prior to starting Unified, Sheldon served in several executive roles within Connexus, a leading digital marketing company, through its successful acquisition in 2010. During his tenure, he managed a $100 million P&L and created one of the fastest growing social adtech companies in the industry. Connexus' social business grew from zero to $50 million annual run-rate within 18 months of launch and became a charter partner in the Facebook API Key and Facebook Approved Ad Platform programs. Sheldon has previously served in a variety of senior executive roles throughout his career including VP of Marketing of a $300 million division at CA Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: CA).
Jason oversees all product, technology, and organizational strategy at Unified. Prior to co-founding Unified, Jason was co-founder and CEO of Social Suitcase, an innovator in the brand engagement space that was acquired by Connexus.
He has held executive roles at a number of social media companies, including his tenure as co-founder and CEO of Teach The People, a Facebook Fund Grant Company and a TechCrunch 40 Finalist. Jason's experience also extends to financial services and enterprise software, including positions at Merrill Lynch, Siebel, and Salesforce.com. At Salesforce.com he managed the release process for the largest on-demand CRM rollout in the history of the cloud at the time.
Jason received a BS in Entrepreneurship and Information Systems from Quinnipiac University and a Masters in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University.
Roger Clark is the Chief Financial Officer of Unified where he oversees all corporate administration, including finance and accounting, HR, legal, IR and business operations. He is also a Board observer and serves as Unified’s Treasurer.
Prior to Unified, Roger spent three years as CFO of Interclick, a leading provider of digital advertising technology and services, which was acquired by Yahoo in 2011 and rebranded Genome in 2012. He played a pivotal role in many of Interclick’s achievements, including a successful listing on NASDAQ.
Roger previously spent 15 years with IAC/InterActiveCorp (NASDAQ:IACI) in a variety of divisional and corporate capacities, including nine years leading the company’s investor relations and financial communication efforts while IAC transformed into a Fortune 500 conglomerate.
Roger began his career as a CPA with Ernst & Young in Cleveland and Los Angeles. He graduated from Ohio University and holds a Business Certificate from Columbia University.
Brian oversees sales at Unified. He has over 15 years of experience in the digital media and advertising business, having worked at some of the largest and most significant companies in the industry.
Prior to joining Unified, Brian spent two years at Google where he managed a team responsible for Google's full range of search, display, video and mobile advertising products in the Financial Services vertical. Brian joined Google as part of the company's acquisition of AdMob, where he was the Director of East Coast Sales, managing AdMob's New York-based operations. Before joining AdMob, Brian spent 5 years at Yahoo managing several key accounts in New York and Boston. He was also part of the original DoubleClick team where he launched and oversaw DoubleClick's international sales operations, based in New York, London and Dublin. He started his career in advertising at McCann-Erickson.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY.
David is responsible for the technology behind Unified's Social Operating Platform (SOP). He has 15 years of experience in shipping solutions for customers, including his first major project, which was recognized by President Bill Clinton in 1998.
Previously, David cofounded PageLever, the leading Facebook analytics point solution provider. PageLever was part of Y Combinator's Summer 2011 class and was backed by a number of well-known angel investors. In January 2013, Unified acquired PageLever and included its applications in the Unified SOP.
David graduated from Auburn University with degrees in Computer Science and Political Science.
Prior to joining Unified, Calvin served as President & CEO of Tumri, the pioneer and leader in dynamic creative platform. Calvin has also served as the Chief Operating Officer of Connexus, a leading Internet performance marketing company, where he oversaw all corporate wide strategic sales, business development, corporate development and marketing initiatives. Additionally, he served as President of Connexus' Traffic Marketplace division, where he spearheaded all aspects of daily operations of one of the leading advertising networks in the industry. Prior to Connexus, Calvin served as SVP of Sales and Marketing at Ticketmaster where he directed corporate-wide sales efforts and marketing strategies during a period when Ticketmaster expanded its internet business three-fold and introduced over 20 new products and services to the market.
Calvin has also served as Director of Strategic Planning & Finance at Lycos, where he evaluated, structured and negotiated merger, acquisition, joint-venture, partnership and investment opportunities. He has also held positions at St. Paul Venture Capital and Credit Suisse First Boston.
Calvin holds an M.B.A. from Stanford University and a B.S. in electrical engineering, Magna Cum Laude, and a B.A. in economics-business, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Josh has overall responsibility for the advertising delivery operations that are critical to Unified's customers' success. Prior to co-founding Unified, Josh was co-founder and COO of Social Suitcase, an innovator in the brand engagement space that was acquired by Connexus.
Previously, Josh was a founder at Teach The People, a Facebook Fund Grant Company and a TechCrunch 40 Finalist. He also served as a graduate instructor at Emory University.
Josh received a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature, Art History, Linguistics, and French from Emory University. He is also a PhD candidate at Emory.
Shawn delivers on Unified’s technology strategy and architects the company’s rapidly-expanding SaaS offerings in cross-platform data management, analytics and reporting. He has been a cloud visionary and key contributor to the emerging enterprise cloud operating model for over a decade. Mr. Douglass has held roles as Operating Executive, Technologist, Advisor and Investor. Most recently responsible for the strategy and vision of the CSC/ServiceMesh Agility Platform and contributing to IT transformation at Global 2000 enterprises.
Prior to ServiceMesh he was managing director at EMC Ventures where he drove strategic investments in cloud, security, big data/analytics, and disruptive technology and business models.
He has served on the Board of Directors and as Chairman of the Technical Steering Committee for the Enterprise Grid Alliance (EGA), and on the Board of Directors at Joyent, a high-performance cloud infrastructure provider. He is also a winner of the Always On 2012 Power Players in the Cloud award. Mr. Douglass is a graduate of Harvard Business School.
Young oversees Unified’s strategic partnership efforts as Unified expands its marketing automation and big data platform. His responsibilities include developing and managing strategic initiatives with adjacent marketing and technology companies, channel sales, and strategic publisher partnerships, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
He joined Unified from Google, where he was responsible for DoubleClick’s advanced programmatic and data partnerships with the world’s largest retailers. Previously, at Undertone he managed the successful launch of their largest ad products. In an earlier position at TubeMogul he was instrumental in growing publisher and data partnerships while laying the groundwork for a private video marketplace. During his tenure at Tumri he managed the company’s relationships with Yahoo, AOL, and Microsoft. He has also held a senior product marketing role for Microsoft’s Online Services and Office divisions. Young began his career in private equity, investments and research.
Young holds a B.A. in Business Administration the University of Washington.
